The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) on July 14, 2026, issued the Draft Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Rooftop Solar PV Grid Interactive System) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, further to amend the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Rooftop Solar PV Grid Interactive System) Regulations, 2015.
The following has been amended, namely:
• The amendment allows eligible consumers to submit applications through online portals, email, or other electronic modes, including formats prescribed under Central or State Government rooftop solar schemes. Distribution Licensees are required to process applications through a web-based online system, upload physically received applications to the portal, and make the application form available on their website.
• The amendment also permits Distribution Licensees to accept digital Solar Metering Connection Agreements submitted through the online portals of Central or State Government rooftop solar schemes, thereby promoting paperless and faster processing.
The objections or suggestions are invited by August 13, 2026.
